Target group: students at elementary and intermediate levels who prefer a compact, universal dictionary with a large number of example sentences

Content: A completely new concept developed by Hueber that pays particular attention to the needs of speakers of other languages: Hueber’s bilingual dictionary for German as a Foreign Language is aimed at native speakers of English, Polish and Spanish and includes up to 100,000 headwords, examples, constructions and idiomatic phrases. It has a very user-friendly design with headwords printed in colour, the vocabulary required for the Zertifikat Deutsch exam specially marked, up to 40,000 phonetic transcriptions and numerous info-boxes with notes on German grammar and cultural background.

The dictionary combines very successfully features found in a traditional monolingual dictionary with those of a bilingual dictionary and can therefore offer learners of the German language the best of both worlds: active language acquisition and the certainty of having understood or translated a word correctly.

It is thus the ideal supplement to Coursebooks such as Schritte international, Themen aktuell, Tangram aktuell, Delfin, Pingpong Neu and em neu. It can, of course, also be used alongside all other Coursebooks aimed at the elementary and intermediate levels.
